7 Signs Your Sliding Door Needs New Rollers
Why rollers fail
The rollers under your sliding door carry the full weight of the glass across the track, thousands of times a year. Grit, humidity, and simple wear eventually flatten or seize them, and once they do, everything else in the door starts to suffer.
The warning signs
- The door drags or sticks instead of gliding
- You have to lift the panel to move it
- A grinding or squealing sound as it slides
- The door jumps or pops off the track
- Visible flat spots or rust on the wheels
- The door only moves smoothly in one spot
- Rollers you replaced recently already feel rough
That last one usually points to a damaged track chewing through new rollers — which is why a good repair looks at the whole system, not just the wheels.
What a fix looks like
We remove the panel, install heavy-duty rollers rated for your door's weight, clean and lubricate the track, then re-level the door so it rolls with one finger. Most jobs are done in a single visit.
